I've been playing around with the idea of getting a tremol-no for my JP. I already have the full push/pull system in it for added versatility so the tremol-no seems like it would just make the guitar even MORE versatile. My only gripe is having to leave the backplate off to be able to change the tremol-no's state (or mode or whatever). Most likely I would use it in dive mode only so I could drop D without tuning issues and also be able to hit bends etc more accurately - although the hard tail mode would be fun as well. Also, sometimes I like to add vibrato with the tremolo arm facing the rear of the guitar (out of the way), so I'd need to be able to get in there and change the mode when necessary. I guess my main issue with the system is leaving the backplate off...
Also, it looks like I'd have to remove my trem claw completely to install, but I may be wrong... There are my thoughts... What are your thoughts and/or experiences?

I was never happy with my tremolo-no. I literally tossed it into White Rock Lake in Dallas TX.

I wouldn't worry about leaving the backplate off. I leave the backplate off on most of my guitars and have never had any problems....

So, the installation is a piece of cake? Does it require the removal of the stock trem claw and screws?

It just requires removing the old claw, not the screws. Don't worry about the backplate either. When I had the tremol-no on my JP, I ordered another backplate and used my friends dremel to cut a square where the thumbscrews of the tremol-no were that way I could adjust it if needed. -Phil

Good idea Phil! Where did you order the backplate from? Did it match the original plate?
