Default How to integrate my EBMM Piezo into my Rig?

Hey guys,

I have a EBMM Silhouette with a piezo system and I even own one of these Ernie Ball Splitter, but I just don't get it.
I want to have the piezo for my cleans and wanna be able to switch to my other sounds (crunch, lead, etc.), as well.
The Silhouette does NOT have the piezo-magnetic switch like the JP Sig has, and that is what makes me wonder...

But how does that work?
The Splitter doesn't have any switch, too, so both signals will run parallel, right?

Please help me out,

all the best

Till

Your signal is probably coming out of the guitar stereo. One side is piezo, one side is mono. If you plug a regular guitar cable into an amp, you're not hearing the piezo, because regular guitar cables are mono, and by default, select the magnetic signal.

The splitter splits the stereo signal into the Left and Right (Mag/piezo) therefore making it possible for you to run the mag signal to your rig, and the piezo signal to the PA (or wherever else you want to run it) most likely adding a volume pedal or a mute button for the piezo signal to be turned on and off. Make sure you have a stereo cable from the guitar to the splitter box

haha werddddd

do this.........

guitar ---> STEREO TRS CABLE ---->splitter box in. Then there should be two outputs from the splitter box.. output 1 (if its the mags) goes to amp rig.......output 2 (if its the piezo) goes to a volume pedal, or a mute switch, then into another amp or PA.

MAKE SURE whatever you use to amplify your piezo signal is NOT a guitar amp. You'll completely lose the acoustic tone and it will just sound like a thin magnetic signal. Piezo's require some type of full range amplifier, whether that be a PA, or a keyboard amp, or whatever, to get the full effect.

Again totally agree, however I can pull some fairly steller cleans from my boogie rig using the piezo, not as good as if using the PA or a dedicated "clean" type amp, but very nice non the less.

thanks so far!

But then I can't switch between piezo and lead for instance... I guess I need something to switch directly between piezo and magnetic. For Instance, the EBMM Splitter with an integrated switch. Y'know I'm sayin?

Just use a volume pedal/mute switch. Sure its an extra half a second to mute one and unmute the other, but its easier than going in and redoing your wiring if you're not confident in wiring. (If you are, its actually really easy to install an on/both/on switch).
